English is the most widely used and recognised language in the Western world. The ability to communicate in this language is therefore essential as it can provide the gateway to many careers and opportunities. Anglia Network Europe offers a comprehensive and structured programme of assessing English competence, which students undertake at their own pace, guided by their teachers. The examination dates for school year 2010/2011 are: The Anglia Certificate of English as a Foreign Language is designed to take the student through all the stages necessary to achieve a level of proficiency and can be used to gain access to British Universities and Colleges. All Anglia levels are linked with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). The qualifications on offer are shown in the diagram below (click on the picture to enlarge) The diagram shows that the Anglia Certificate of English, which is acquired through graded examinations, consists of 10 levels. These are shown on the left side of the diagram. It also shows that the Anglia International Business English examinations can be taken at 4 levels. These are shown on the right side of the diagram. The English exams correspond to levels of Business exams. Five times a year Anglia offers the possibility to take part in an Anglia examination: In January, April, May, June and November.
